Arad has talent, experience and ideas. What is missing is an ecosystem that turns those ideas into successful companies.
Innovation does not happen by accident. It happens where people with ideas, entrepreneurs, researchers, companies and investors work together. SmartArad aims to become the place where the next generation of startups from Arad and Western Romania can be born and compete on international markets.
Too many valuable ideas stay on paper or leave the region looking for support they cannot find at home. How long does selection take?
Four weeks from the cohort closing date.
Does it cost anything?
No. Free for accepted teams. No equity for incubation.
Can I apply from outside Arad?
Yes — we prioritise Western Romania, and welcome teams who will build a real presence here.
Do you invest?
Not directly. We prepare you and introduce you to angels and funds.
Do I need a registered company?
Not to apply. We help set up an SRL during onboarding if needed.
